First sale for a £4.99 PDF: one clear offer, one stat, a sticky Buy button (BIZDEV #12b 2, 29 Oct 2026, task fc9fdd78)

What the sources show (read 29 Oct 2026)

How we apply it to Cedwyn

  1. One stat as the hero of /ebooks/: e.g. "1,987 pages of records on one Welsh farm" (the Evidence Archive's page count on the thank-you page) or "1824 to 1988, every record sourced". One line, no video. (Proposal for the sales-fix owner; QUEUE-after-framing.)
  2. Sticky Buy bar on mobile for the bundle or the page's main book: "All four · £19.96 · Buy" pinned to the bottom at 390 px. One bar, not a second hero button.
  3. Specific proof only: we have no buyers yet, so no testimonials. Use specific record proof instead ("a juror of the manor court for many years", Cardiff Times 1904; "plan 19, Cedfin or Ty Mawr", 1824), which the page already quotes once. Never "trusted by readers".
  4. Keep £4.99 until the first 10 sales (matches the low-start advice); the Gumroad prices (£9.99/£31.99) are still the owner's open item.
  5. Expectation check: at the 2.3% DTC median, ~400 human-likely visits/day site-wide (kpi 29 Oct 20:31Z, an upper bound) should give a few sales a week if even a tenth reached /ebooks/ with intent. Zero after 7 days means intent or clarity is missing, not traffic alone; pairs with the 29 Oct card-clarity hypothesis (assets/ebooks-390-review-and-sales-hypothesis-2026-10-29.md).
  6. Measure: Buy clicks per /ebooks/ view (events endpoint after P-037/P-038) and paid Stripe sessions per 7 days; one change at a time.
