# Skill: scoring grounds to reopen a judgment

**Use when:** testing whether new material could support reopening the 1987 judgment.

1. The fixed metric is the three-limb test from Takhar v Gracefield Developments Ltd [2019] UKSC 13, each limb scored 0–5 by the reopen-loop rubric.
2. One hypothesis per experiment. Run it, score it, keep it if a score moves, otherwise discard and log why.
3. Court-ready means every limb at 4 or more. Below that, nothing is presented as more than a prospective line of enquiry.
4. Mark each ground NEW or KNOWN against the grounds register.
5. Public wording is "our case, prospective" — never a finding of any court, and never an accusation against a named person.
