# Great House Farm — Primary Record Register ## How we treat outside records This archive is the chronology and central record of Tŷ Mawr (Great House Farm), Llandough-juxta-Penarth. Tŷ Mawr is first named in the record we have found in David Stewart’s 1824 survey of the Bute Glamorgan estates (EV-0211). The Williams family acquired Tŷ Mawr in 1667 (sources: Mary Williams’ statement in the 1974 newspapers; ITV News, 1988). Bute estate and other third-party documents dated before 1824 (the Cydwin lease, Bute catalogue headings such as NLW D 219) are not records of Tŷ Mawr; their application to it is under forensic examination, and the Bute freeholds are under forensic examination for validity. Outside narratives are tested against these records, not repeated. Every name of the house, town and estate: /ebooks/enwau/.
