Record or assertion tested
DBDT/79/1 — 2 May 1877 Pembroke Terrace, Cardiff
Disposition
Ruled out as a Llandough match. Physically examined; described in the archive correspondence as a Cardiff/Pembroke Terrace lease with no mention of Llandough, Great House Farm or Tŷ Mawr.
What it does and does not establish
It is a real Bute–John Williams lease, but it concerns Cardiff property. The record does not show which Williams, if any, was related to the farm family.
Next step / retained route
Keep as a negative control for name/date confusion. Use the archive’s corrected description, not older catalogue wording.

From the wiki’s Kissed Frogs source-screening and scope register (version 1.0.2), kept whole: the register on the wiki.

The same caution stands on the wiki’s 1877 Agreement page: do not use a Cardiff deed to fill the gap left by the unlocated Llandough instruments.

Exclusion means “not this property” or “not in scope”, not that the source is false, and not evidence of wrongdoing by itself.
