Our integration
The Historic England Archive letter of 12 January 2018 transferring Welsh archaeological reports on microfiche to the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Wales (RCAHMW), disclosed by Historic England on 27 October 2026 (EIR reference 26/04323) with the deaccession statement GHF-E106-R117-A1.
The letter lists deaccessions 156, 186, 211, 232 and 253, describes the reports as copied by or for the RCHME from the 1980s onwards for research and as a security copy, and transfers ownership and any rights to RCAHMW.
Open question: the reports were never itemised, so whether a Great House Farm / Tŷ Mawr report travelled with them, and where it now sits in the RCAHMW collection, is not checked.
What cuts against the case: the transfer is an ordinary all-Wales handover between national bodies, made decades after 1987, and ownership passed in full with nothing recorded as destroyed or retained.
