DOCUMENTED FACT. RCAHMW holds the H. J. Thomas survey material, including a 1974 survey and floor plan documenting a sub-medieval or late-seventeenth-century building (RCAHMW review). RCAHMW says the house was only partly recorded because of problems created by an ownership dispute.
- The full wording and extent of the survey.
- The Johns–Buckler correspondence, lost “since 1986/87”, which may have recorded Mary’s own account of her title to an independent public body.
- Whether Cadw saw the survey in 1988.
