Quotation: But after a hearing in chambers a judge at Cardiff Crown Court dismissed an application by Mr and Mrs Buckler for an injunction to restrain BP Properties Ltd, the owners of the land, from destroying or damaging the fabric of the building.
Proves: Western Mail reported, 6 Dec 1988, a judge dismissed the Bucklers’ injunction application against BP Properties Ltd; Cadw said the house lacked sufficient architectural merit, land lacked archaeological interest.
Does not prove: Journalist’s summary, not the judgment; Court identity disputed (Crown Court vs High Court per N11); Reported age (800 years) and four generations of occupation unconfirmed.

Interpretation
The Western Mail of 6 December 1988 reported that an application for an injunction to stop BP Properties Ltd destroying the fabric of the house was dismissed in chambers in Cardiff, that leave to appeal to the House of Lords had been refused, and that a Cadw spokesperson found the house not of sufficient architectural merit and the land not of sufficient archaeological interest. It quoted the family’s solicitor, Mr Colin Jongman. Compare the RCAHMW description of the same house, EV-0629.
