Related evidenceEV-0230 (Western Mail, 5 Aug 1936: “Llandough Bride”, Mary Doreen (Nancy) Williams of Great House Farm) · EV-0283 (John Williams on the 1910 Court Leet jury)

Quotation (verbatim): “CARDIFF CITY FOOTBALL PLAYER AS DEFENDANT … damages in respect of losses by dogs worrying sheep was claimed by Mr. John Williams, Great House Farm, Llandough” (26 Mar 1925). “PONY, 12.2, ride or drive; best offer.— Great House Farm, Llandough, near Penarth” (8 Jun 1937). “LOST from Great House Farm, Twelve-bore Gun; number known.—Williams, Llandough” (6 Feb 1939). OCR slips corrected.

Fits with: John Williams is named at Great House Farm in 1925, keeping sheep; the farm is still advertised from “near Penarth” in 1937 and under the name Williams in February 1939, after the 1938 WGR conveyance. Together with the 1936 wedding report, the farm is a working Williams household through the 1920s and 1930s.

Cuts against: Snippets only: the full reports are unread. The 1925 item is a county-court claim against a footballer whose dogs worried the sheep; it shows occupancy and stock, not tenure.

Notes: “Near Penarth” fixes the 1937 item to Llandough-juxta-Penarth. A separate Great House Farm at Llandough near Cowbridge (Cadwgan family, 1950s–2000s) appears in the same searches and is excluded.
