Shows: The cut from a 30-year to a 15-year root applied only to contracts made after 1 Jan 1970, so the 31 Dec 1969 WGR → BP Pension Trust sale needed a root before Dec 1939: in practice the 25 Dec 1938 conveyance (known from recitals; the deed has not been examined), then 31 years 6 days old. In 1965 the school-site contract had to contract out of the 30-year rule to start from the same 1938 deed. BP’s 1969 and 1971 abstracts (EV-0043, EV-0045) should therefore begin with the 1938 deed and show what it conveyed at Llandough.

Does not show: Starting title at a purchase from a large landed estate was common conveyancing practice.
