Shows: Every link in the paper chain from 1922 to 1983 is known only from recitals, press or catalogues; no operative instrument from it is held. The records on file for the Williams family are the c.1841 tithe (John Williams occupier of 36 plots identified by number, including 209 “Courtyard &c” and 255), the 1872–76 rate books, the 1916 tenancy (recited only) and the 1939 letting (the fields). The 1824 survey names a different tenant, John Gedrick. None of these is yet matched plot by plot to the 1987 “Parcel A”, and none names the Tŷ Mawr house parcel. The single most useful document is the 25 Dec 1938 conveyance with its plan. BP Properties became registered proprietor at first registration in 1982/83; whether Mary Williams’s claim was before HM Land Registry then is not shown in the records held.

Does not show: Neither side’s root is proved from a document in hand; the family’s 1987 case was possessory, not documentary.
