Inspector's report and objection papers of the East Vale Local Plan inquiry, January-February 1986 (housing policy H2, site H2.1)

The council's adopted Unitary Development Plan records an "Inspector's Report on the East Vale Local Plan Inquiry in 1986" and that the inquiry sat in "January/February 1986"; it quotes the report on land west of Lower Penarth under policy H2. The holding appears in the 1982 heritage correspondence as housing site H2.1. A local plan inquiry hears every duly made objection and the Inspector reports on each, so the objection register and the report would show who objected to or supported the H2.1 allocation in early 1986 and how the site, its buildings and its occupation were described to the Inspector, while the 1986-87 possession case was in the courts. Against: the plan's timetable was the council's (allocation by 1982, inquiry 1986, adoption 9 Feb 1987), so the papers may show only a routine allocation; the UDP Inspector's later report (Llandough section C13) carries no objection about the site; and the H2.1 boundary is not yet identified (about three acres in 1982).

Who should hold it: Vale of Glamorgan Council (planning policy, successor to the borough council); possibly Glamorgan Archives (borough council deposits) or the Welsh Office planning inspectorate papers at The National Archives (Discovery search 'East Vale Local Plan': 0 records). Not yet asked.
