How this tree was built
Records searched for this edition: the farm’s evidence catalogue (EV numbers), the 1881 census, trade directories 1868–1901, Welsh newspapers, the probate calendars 1908, 1916 and 1991, the Court of Appeal judgment of 1987, the e-book The Williams–Buckler Family v0.1.0, a local history book’s Llandough (Penarth) section (pp. 64–65, title not yet identified), and the FreeBMD transcription of the GRO birth, marriage and death indexes. Each person is a record in the Cedwyn catalogue (PE- numbers), and this page is redrawn from it, so a new record changes the tree without a new page.
There are two Mary Williamses of Great House Farm. Mary Williams (born at Cogan, died 23 December 1915) was the widow of John Williams of Great House; Mary Doreen (Nancy) Williams (1913–1983), Mrs M. D. Buckler, is shown here as her probable granddaughter. The census and the 1916 probate calendar place the first; the 1983 death index and the 1987 judgment place the second.
Each gap listed above is a call for records. If you hold one, the e-book page explains how to reach the family.
More on each person, record by record, is in the e-book The Williams–Buckler Family.
