EV-0213 — 6 November 1877 Clyde Street, Roath counterpart
Why it is not ours: A Roath building plot leased to a builder, not the farm.
- Record or assertion tested
- EV-0213 — 6 November 1877 Clyde Street, Roath counterpart
- Disposition
- Ruled out as the farm lease. Photographs identify a house plot in Clyde Street, Roath; the lessee is John Williams, builder, of System Street, Roath; term 99 years from 29 September 1877, rent £2 12s 6d.
- What it does and does not establish
- Explains why the exact date and 99-year term are a dangerous false friend. It does not identify the lessee as the Great House Farm tenant, prove a Llandough lease, or prove wrongdoing. A 99-year term from 1877 ends around 1976, not 1987.
- Next step / retained route
- Keep the photos. Get the archive reference/bundle and Plan No. 15 so the catalogue identity can be authenticated; do not treat it as farm-title evidence.
From the wiki’s Kissed Frogs source-screening and scope register (version 1.0.2), kept whole: the register on the wiki.
The same caution stands on the wiki’s 1877 Agreement page: do not use a Cardiff deed to fill the gap left by the unlocated Llandough instruments.

Exclusion means “not this property” or “not in scope”, not that the source is false, and not evidence of wrongdoing by itself.
