EV-0234 — 15 June 1878 agreement and July 1878 award, Thomas Williams and the Ynysawdre Coal Co.
Why it is not ours: A Bridgend farm, not ours.
- Record or assertion tested
- EV-0234 — 15 June 1878 agreement and July 1878 award, Thomas Williams and the Ynysawdre Coal Co.
- Disposition
- Ruled out: not our farm. The document names “Thomas Williams of Ynysawdre Farm near Bridgend”; the company (Ynysawdre Coal Coke & Brick Co.) was at Tondu.
- What it does and does not establish
- Probable origin of the line “except once, in 1878” in a family email to Cadw, and of the remembered “Cardiff brick-coke company” (the umpire was of Llandaff) — both inferences. It does not show any payment to the Williams family of Great House Farm.
- Next step / retained route
- Keep the photos (family photographs, Leckwith visit 2, #91–95). Get the archive reference. Do not use in the Llandough chronology.
