Quotation (verbatim): “IMPORTANT SALE OF LIVE AND DEAD FARMING STOCK. GREAT HOUSE FARM, LLANDOUGH.” (OCR, slips corrected)

Fits with: A wartime sale of the farm’s stock in November 1942 would fit the record that the War Agricultural Executive Committee was dissatisfied with the farm by 1944 and that Frederick Buckler then ran it as manager for John Williams. If this is the Penarth farm, the advertisement should name the auctioneer, the vendor and the reason for the sale.

Cuts against: Which Llandough is NOT VERIFIED: a second Great House Farm at Llandough near Cowbridge also advertised stock sales (1927). The snippet names no vendor.

Notes: Next step (free): read the full page through a library BNA or Welsh Newspapers terminal; the advertisement text decides the parish.
