Parcel B nomenclature

  • Parcel B — the Wiki’s primary analytical label for the eastern agricultural parcel.
  • eastern fields — descriptive shorthand for Parcel B.
  • fields to the east — descriptive locator used in the Wiki’s reconstruction.
  • eastern agricultural parcel — descriptive category, not a proven historical title.

Identity boundary

Parcel B is not the same thing as the farmhouse or Parcel A. It is the eastern agricultural component of the two-parcel reconstruction. Later use of “whole farm” must not erase this distinction where the evidence shows separate parcels, tenures or titles.

Colour key

Parcel B uses amber/gold shades, with each nomenclature variant assigned a different shade within that family.

Cross-links across the naming system: Use Great House Farm — Name & Location Variations to compare the distinct building, place and parcel labels across the site. For the separate historical Cedwyn / Cydfin place-name research branch, consult GHF-E173 — complete reference index. Similar names are research leads and do not, by themselves, prove identical boundaries, ownership or title.

Cedwyn Estate theory cross-reference: Parcel B is the necessary control area for the Cedwyn Estate hypothesis. If a deed, tenancy, possession order or registration describes Parcel B, compare the original plan against each proposed Parcel-A component before inferring either inclusion or exclusion. A fields-only plan may be evidence of the tenancy’s scope, not automatically of who held the surrounding freehold.
