AI use, transparency and content provenance

This page covers bucklerfamily.estate and every *.bucklerfamily.estate site, the Great House Farm Legal Wiki (greathousefarmwiki.wordpress.com), the Great House Farm e-books, the short videos (HyperFrames) and any merchandise. It explains how an AI agent helps make them, how AI-made material is labelled, and how to reach a person.

1. Who we are

2. Provenance statement

These sites and books are compiled with an AI agent, “Cedwyn editors”, working under human oversight. The agent collects public records, transcribes, organises, summarises and translates them, drafts pages and books, and builds and checks the websites. A person sets the direction, and outward steps such as letters to public bodies are approved by a person before they are sent.

• Citations to the record. Factual statements are meant to carry a reference to the record they rest on: a judgment, a register entry, an archive reference, or an evidence item (EV number) on the Legal Wiki. Where a point is not yet sourced, the text marks it as pending.
• Theories, timelines and questions put forward on these sites are the family's case.
• Open questions, not accusations. We describe what the records show and ask questions. We do not state that any named living person or named body committed a crime.
• Versions. E-books carry a version number (vX.Y.ZZ) and a colophon naming Cedwyn editors as compiler. Wiki edits are logged on the wiki's Change Log, and site changes are logged in the public git history.
• Mistakes. AI tools can make errors. If you find one, tell us (section 9) and we will correct it and log the correction.

3. Labelling AI-generated or AI-manipulated material

We follow the transparency duty in Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) for readers in the EU, and the same practice everywhere:

• Videos (HyperFrames). End cards carry the line “Made with AI tools · Cedwyn editors”, and synthetic voice-overs are disclosed in the caption (“AI voice”). This is being added to every new video from 20 October 2026; earlier videos are being relabelled.
• Images. An image generated or materially altered by AI carries a visible caption, “AI-generated image” or “AI-restored photo”, and, where the tool allows, machine-readable marking (IPTC Digital Source Type “trainedAlgorithmicMedia”, or C2PA Content Credentials).
• Historic photographs and documents are shown as found. Any clean-up beyond cropping and exposure is labelled as restoration. We never create a likeness of a real person, living or dead, and present it as a real photograph.
• Merchandise. Designs made with AI tools carry “Design made with AI tools” in the product description.
• Text. Pages and books state in their footer or colophon that they were compiled by Cedwyn editors. Quoted documents, letters and judgments are reproduced as written and are not AI output.

4. Automated decisions (UK GDPR and GDPR Article 22)

We do not make any decision about you that has legal or similarly significant effects based solely on automated processing, including profiling. Our payment providers (Stripe; Gumroad) run their own automated fraud screening on card payments as independent controllers or processors; you can ask them, or us, for human review of a declined payment.

5. Personal data and AI

• What we hold. Your email address and first name if you ask for the £0.00 e-book or updates; order details (name, email, country, what you bought) if you buy; messages you send us.
• Lawful bases. Consent for marketing emails (UK GDPR Art 6(1)(a) and PECR reg 22), which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link; contract for orders (Art 6(1)(b)); legal obligation for tax records (Art 6(1)(c)); legitimate interests for site security (Art 6(1)(f)).
• AI and your data. We do not use subscribers' or buyers' personal data to train AI models, and we do not use AI to profile you. AI tools work on the case records, not on customer lists. We follow the ICO's guidance on AI and data protection: we keep this use transparent, limited to its purpose, and reviewed by a person.
• Processors. Stripe (payments), Gumroad (alternative store), Mailchimp (email), Cloudflare (hosting and security), WordPress.com (the Legal Wiki), and AI model providers that process case material we give them. Several are in the United States; transfers rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses, as each provider offers.
• Retention. Mailing list: until you unsubscribe. Orders: six years for tax records. Messages: two years after the matter closes.
• Your rights. Access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent. Write to info@bucklerfamily.estate. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or, in the EU, your national data protection authority.
• EU representative. [To be confirmed: whether a GDPR Article 27 representative in the EU is needed, and who it is.]

6. Consumer law (UK and EU)

• We do not publish fake or AI-generated reviews or testimonials, and we do not buy followers, in line with the CMA's guidance and the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024.
• Prices are shown in full before checkout. Older editions are sold more cheaply and the oldest edition is £0.00; each edition's version and price are shown side by side.
• Digital content (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). By buying you ask for the PDF to be supplied straight away and agree that your 14-day right to cancel ends once the download is available (reg. 37). Faulty file? We replace it or refund you (Consumer Rights Act 2015, ss.42–45).
• Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights.

7. United States

• We aim to meet the Federal Trade Commission's guidance under section 5 of the FTC Act: no misleading statements about what AI does, clear disclosure of AI-made content, and no fake reviews (16 CFR Part 465) or undisclosed endorsements (16 CFR Part 255).
• Governing law and venue. For customers outside the UK and EU, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, and disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Wyoming. Customers in the UK and EU keep the mandatory protections of their home law and may bring proceedings in their home courts.

8. AI search and crawlers

We want people to find the record. Our robots.txt files welcome search and answer crawlers (for example OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot, Bingbot and Googlebot). Each site publishes an llms.txt with a plain-text guide to its public pages. Paid e-books are never published at a public address.

9. Corrections and contact

Found a mistake, a missing citation, or material that should not be public? Email info@bucklerfamily.estate with the page address. We aim to reply within 14 days, correct errors promptly, and log each correction (wiki Change Log; git history for the sites).
